2020 Reopening Plan (Download PDF)
Starting Sunday, July 12th
Hello Church Family!
I wanted to take a few minutes to update you on our plans for Phase 2, beginning this Sunday, July 12th.
As stated previously, the goal of Phase 2 is a return to on-campus small groups, especially Sunday School. I am delighted to say that we are continuing to move forward with this plan. However, given the circumstances in our community and after consulting with our other church leaders, we feel the need to make a few adjustments to our plans for Phase 2.
The most significant of these changes is a return to one Sunday morning worship service at 11:00 am. Our current in-person attendance in both services can be easily accommodated in a socially distanced manner. In addition, this decision relieves some of the strain on our excellent team of volunteers who have been faithfully helping us each week. For simplicity sake, let me state our schedule going forward. On Sunday morning, those Sunday School classes meeting on-campus will meet from 9:45-10:45am and our one, united worship service will begin at 11:00 am.
In a spirit of cooperation with our Governor and out of concern for the health of our church family, we are still requiring face coverings to be worn in the building. In addition, we are going to wait a few more weeks before allowing any refreshments in the Sunday School hour. We will continue to pre-record our Midweek Connection on Thursday evening for your encouragement.
One final announcement, on Sunday, July 19th at 6:00 pm, we will hold our Quarterly Business Meeting in the sanctuary using appropriate safety measures, such as masks and social distancing. I invite all who are comfortable doing so to attend as we review where we are as a church family in our various ministries and in our finances.
Thank you church for your continuing flexibility and spirit of cooperation. With your help, I believe the Lord has big things in store for us – even in this difficult season.
Dr. Jim Brewer
COMMUNICATIONS | UPDATES
We will disseminate official announcements & updates using three different platforms.
- First Baptist Lakeside Website: www.fblakeside.net
- First Baptist Lakeside Master Email List: submit address to
- First Baptist Lakeside Facebook Page
Once information has been distributed through these platforms, it may be passed along by our ministry and lay leaders. This will ensure that all information is coming directly from church leadership.
SANITIZING | DEEP CLEANING
Our First Baptist Lakeside Custodial Staff will continue to thoroughly clean our facilities to ensure they are properly sanitized. Presently, access to our Church Building will be limited in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This should allow our building to rest in a sanitized state and help to minimize the chance for infection to you and both our ministry and support staff.
